Lalima Katyayani (Yani) obtained her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry (Hons.) from the University of Delhi in New Delhi, India. She earned her Master's in Biological Sciences and Doctorate in Molecular Biophysics through the integrated MS - PhD program at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, India. Yani has completed her postdoctoral training in Structural Biology at the Department of Pharmacology, University of California San Diego, La Jolla, California.
In October 2019, Yani accepted a position as an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) with joint appointments in the Department of Pharmacology, the College of Medicine, and the Hollings Cancer Center. She has recently moved to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and continues to hold a joint appointment at the Cancer Center.
